The 2976 was Dr. Martens’ first ladies’ shoe. Originally called the ’Dorothy,’ it was renamed in 2006 to honour the year that Dr. Martens, after being found guilty of tax fraud, went back into business. The 2976 is designed to be both an everyday boot and a fashion shoe, with a new leather style and zipper system.
